- First, you must log in to your online store admin
- Now open the Online store in your dashboard and open Shopify theme
- Choose the theme you want to edit
- Now click on Actions and then select Edit Code
- Under the Edit Code options, search and click on the Sections folder
- Now click on the “footer.liquid” file.
- This will now open the page to edit your code
- Hold “ctrl+F” and type in the code {{Powered_By_link}} in this code editor
- Now once you find the code “{{powered_by_link}}” delete all of them and click on Save
To remove the tagline from the password page, follow the above-mentioned steps.
Once you’ve finished the above, the tagline has been successfully removed.
How To Remove The Powered By Tagline Without Using Edit Code
Follow these simple steps to remove “Powered By Shopify” without using the Edit Code option.
- Same as above, log in first
- Now open Online Store in your dashboard and select themes
- Choose the theme you want to edit
- And now click on Actions
- Now, you must click on “Edit Languages”
- Now, under the general section you’ll see an option “Filter” with a textbox next to it, type “Powered” there.
- Once you type “powered” and click you’ll see a Powered By Shopify box with the same written in it.
- Just type in a single space and the tagline will be removed.
- Do the same for the Powered by Shopify HTML box, and the tagline will be removed from the Password page as well.
- Lastly, hit the Save button

Removing “Powered By Shopify” By Using The Mobile App
You can also remove the “Powered by Shopify” tagline with the android or iOS mobile app:
- Open the app and head over to your dashboard
- Open the Sales channel and then select “Online Store”
- Now open Themes
- Select the theme you want to edit and select “Actions”
- Now choose “Edit Languages
- Type powered in the “Filter” box
- Now just use the spacebar once and the tagline will be removed
- Save the changes

Can You Change The “Powered By Shopify” Tagline?

- Log into your store
- Just like before, open Online Store and then open Shopify themes.
- Choose the online store theme you want to edit
- Now select actions and then click on Edit Languages
- Now, under the general section you’ll see an option “Filter” with a textbox next to it, type “Powered” there.
- Once you type “powered” and click you’ll see another textbox with “Powered By Shopify” written in it.
- Now you can change the “Powered by Shopify” to something that relates to your brand. For example, “Powered by XYZ” or “Brought to you by XZY”.
- Do the same with the “Powered By Shopify HTML”, this will change the tagline on the Password page as well.
- Now click on “Save” and your changes will be successfully saved.
